FUNDRAISING EXECUTIVE (Trusts and Partnerships – UK based hybrid working) – Part-time, up to 4 days a week

We are seeking a Fundraising Executive with a minimum two years’ experience in at least two of the following areas: trust bid writing, major gift fundraising or wealth management, corporate fundraising or new business development, income generation through grants and contracts. 

We are a small, agile, and dynamic team, and you will be working closely with the Head of Foundation to help build and deliver charitable income. This is a new role within a growing environmental and conservation charity.

Pelorus Foundation works together with primarily African based grass-roots NGOs, to help empower local people to protect and preserve endangered wildlife and wild places and promote their work and voices to international audiences. 

This is a unique opportunity to shape the role and make it your own. You will develop and deliver your fundraising plans in line with our strategic plan and share your ideas and creativity to help build future growth.

The role is UK based, and you must already have the right to work in the UK as we are unable to sponsor international applicants. 

This is a hybrid role, working four days a week. However, you will be required to be in the London office once or twice a week, so you will need to live within a commutable distance.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a pipeline of trusts, corporates, and high net worth individuals to deliver fundraising and sponsorship income
  • Write and submit high quality grant funding bids, proposals and corporate pitches
  • Build and manage supporter relations, working with colleagues to enhance the supporter experience
  • Identify and develop new fundraising opportunities and activities
  • Create donor appeals and work with colleagues to develop digital fundraising content


  • Excellent writing skills with good grammar, and fluency in English
  • Creativity, able to shape and craft effective fundraising materials and project stories to capture attention and create action
  • Attention to detail to ensure high quality and accurate presentation of grant bids, proposals, and corporate presentations
  • Strong research skills, able to identify and develop a pipeline of funding prospects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills able to converse and build strong relationships with people at all business levels
  • Confident framing and making a financial ask both verbally and written, to secure income generation
  • Comfortable working with budgets and delivering to financial targets
  • The ability to perform well under pressure, able to deal with multiple activities and tasks concurrently and deliver to agreed targets
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet
  • Good negotiation skills to help secure effective, fundraising income
  • At least two years’ experience in  bid writing, or partnership fundraising, and/or business development of wealth management

EVENTS PLANNER (UK based, hybrid working)

The Pelorus Foundation and Pelorus team are looking for an Events Planner with at least two years’ experience, to join our team. You will be working closely with a fast moving, dynamic team and with suppliers to plan extraordinary events. The job involves planning events for Pelorus, a bespoke travel company, as well as us, the Pelorus Foundation charity.

  • The ability to multitask, as the job often requires dealing with multiple partis and task concurrently
  • Attention to detail to ensure that every aspect of an event is perfect
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think on their feet
  • Strong negotiation skills to effectively deal with suppliers and contractors
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as the job constantly involves working with people
  • Comfortable working with budgets

At least two years’ experience planning and hosting successful events.
