Wildlife crime is fueled by corruption, weak legislation, and insufficiently trained law enforcement. Many African nations serve as both source and transit points for trafficked wildlife, parts, and products, with high demand from private collectors and zoo facilities. As a partner of the Royal Foundation’s United for Wildlife program, Focused Conservation manages intelligence-sharing systems that connect over 300 members from private, governmental, and conservation sectors.

This collaboration enhances global efforts to disrupt trafficking trends and provides Focused Conservation with unparalleled access to information and resources to support live animal trafficking investigations and rescues of wild animals destined for zoo facilities, and covering critical expenses
