The Climate Investment Fund is a dynamic carbon credit portfolio working to scale projects that actually remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. WHY IS THE CLIMATE INVESTMENT FUND UNIQUE?
The terms “carbon offset” and “carbon removal” are often confused. But carbon offsets don’t traditionally remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, rather they focus on avoiding emissions elsewhere, for example by avoiding deforestation.
That’s the crux of why our Climate Investment Fund is different, by investing in the minority of carbon credits that actually remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, we are driving the development of pioneering methods needed to reverse climate change. Of equal importance are nature-based solutions like afforestation, and inextricably combined, is the long-term involvement of local people.
