What is Pelorus Foundation?
Our mission is to champion innovation and act as a catalyst, empowering individuals and local communities to preserve and protect the world’s wildlife and wild places for future generations.
From mountain leaders to Atlantic rowers, world record holders and swimming coaches, a diverse team of six swimmers from all different walks of life is united by a shared love for the ocean and one goal, to conquer the unchartered waters around Ibiza.
They will tackle the sea head-on, swimming in two-hour intervals as a relay team, with non-stop movement until they complete their journey. They will swim through the night, taking turns to rest in a support boat accompanying them.
Their audacious goal is to secure a place in the Guinness Book of Records as the first relay team to swim continuously around Ibiza whilst raising funds for ocean conservation.
The challenge will serve as a catalyst to raise awareness and drive funds into dynamic community-based marine projects that are scaling marine conservation solutions. This is why the team has chosen Pelorus Foundation as their partner.
Funds raised will play a crucial role in the conservation of the Balearic Sea marine biodiversity, and also support coastal community projects that tackle rural poverty in Kenya, whilst protecting the ocean.
